Say YOU are out with your friends at a bar or a club. Alcohol is running through 3/4 of the people there. Someone accidentally bumps someone else and a bar room brawl starts! What do you do?
Well, you don’t always have the time to think through all of your options! SO…here are the three options you have: fight, run, hide!
*First thing’s first: If you can avoid fighting, AVOID IT!! No one wins a fight! “If I knock everyone out then I win right??”….no…you don’t. More than likely you will mess up your hand, get hit a couple of times in the process or maybe get a chair to the face before you roundhouse the other guy! If you are an experienced MMA fighter or a trained fighter, then maybe you CAN defeat your opponents, but more than likely, if you are trained in these arts, you know better than to get in pointless street fights…
That being said, the best way to avoid losing a fight, is to simply walk away. Pride is the reason why most people fight. The man that can have enough pride in HIMSELF is the one who can walk away from pointless fights and still respect himself. “If I run away or back down, then I will be a b****!!” Well, if you DO get beat up or knocked out, then you look EVEN MORE of a pansy…so why go through that if you can just win the fight with your mind??
So rule #1: If the fight can be avoided and you can walk away, then do so. Nobody wants to get beat down in front of the person they are with!
Rule #2: In a street fight, there are NO RULES!!
Use weapons and objects to create distance and avoid getting within range of your enemy! When a street fight begins, pride and rules are out the window! You are fighting for your life! Do not be afraid to use any object you can like a pipe or a glass bottle! They can save your life! And you best believe that your opponent is going to try and pull a knife or use a weapon as well!
Rule #3: Be aware of your surroundings
Which would you expect to happen? Getting jumped in an alley by a group of bullies or street thugs, or getting jumped at a grocery store?…Exactly. By avoiding the situations you can save yourself from even encountering a problem!! Thinking on your feet and making educated decisions can mean your safety, or even your life!
So think of these rules when encountering the streets. Make sure to check back in if it comes down to skipping step #1. I will provide techniques to end fights quickly for you to help you out!

5 Basic Kickboxing Skills:
The Jab: Probably THE most important punch you could have in your arsenal. Not only is it used for distancing, but it is very useful for setting up combinations.
Head Movement: Watch any boxing match and I can almost bet my life that the commentators will say “he has good head movement” at least one time!
Block a Punch: If you can block a punch, not only can you counter it with your own punch or kick, but you can even hurt the opponent’s hand and end the fight!!
Street Tactics:(Use with Caution!): Fight tips from Trav….this guy is a beast. Just be careful using these techniques. You don’t want to KILL anybody..just get away safely!
