Nick Drossos is a very smart street fighter. He has a youtube channel with many videos explaining many techniques to use in a street fight. I will link a few below for you to check out. Hope that you learn and apply these tips to your fight game!! ;D
The first link here is very informative on how to apply kicks to a street scenario. People know that kicks are very powerful, but the reason that most don’t use them, is due to the speed it takes to set it up and because of opening their defense. This video shows how to defend yourself from straight right punches and also get the kick off onto their lead leg.
This next video explains why you should NEVER kick above the waist. A kick straight to the shin or to the knee cap is WAY more effective than trying to kick them in the ribs or the head. The possibility of getting your foot caught is higher the higher you kick!
I hope that these videos help you out with your kicks in a real fight! Just remember to make your kicks fast!!! It may feel as if you have no power, but trust me, you are kicking harder than you realize.
Many people see jumping rope as childish or for elementary school gym time, but if you look at ALL of the famous boxers, they all had one thing in common in training: they skipped rope!
Skipping rope is such a great asset to a workout because when you skip rope, you work on rhythm, footwork, coordination, and endurance! (plus it looks cool when you can do it fast :p)
The following link will show you that trained boxers do this exercise more than anything to help focus on speed AND endurance at the SAME TIME!!!
Happy Skipping 😉
Losing body fat can be hard if you don’t know what to do to lose it!!
Everyone has abs…but most people have too much body fat covering their abs, that they do not show!
The key to losing weight and body fat, is to train and eat like a fighter!
Cardio, of course, is the BEST exercise to lose body fat. Crunches and sit ups will strengthen your abs, but they won’t be visible if you don’t burn the fat around them!!
All of these exercises together will shape you up and tone you down. Just make sure to follow a diet plan and stay away from sugar as much as you can!
Muay Thai Kickboxing is one of the rawest sports and most brutal of the mixed martial arts!
The way that these fighters kick could potentially kill people! They can kick with such force to the head, that they could LITERALLY break their necks or skull!
Learning these techniques can save your life if you are ever encountered on the street and you need a quick getaway!
Kicks are underrated and should be key in fighting situations on the streets because, let’s face it, nobody uses kicks in street fights! They won’t expect it and if they aren’t trained, the kick will land most of the time!!
So study this video and apply it to your arsenal!!
In this article, Joe Lewis describes the 40 most common mistakes that most beginner kickboxers commit!
The most important points that I take away from it, is that countering should be quick and strategically setup and footwork must be quick!
Hope you read all of the tips and take something away from this!
